SIP No.2 Experimental Primary School has achieved good results in the international understanding education activity of "Little Messenger Cloud Diplomacy"
In May this year, Suzhou International Exchange Association launched the theme activity of "Little Messenger Cloud Diplomacy" for international understanding education. As the experimental base school of international understanding education in Suzhou, SIP No.2 Experimental Primary School actively responded to this activity. In the list of winners issued by Suzhou Education International Exchange Association not long ago, the project team of SIP No.2 Experimental Primary School performed outstandingly: Kang Ruining and Ren Xuanyi of Class 5 and Class 9 won the "Excellent Creation Award" for their works on "Endangered Marine Animals"; The works of Liu Sicheng and Zhou Jiayi in Class 5, Cao Suzhen and Zhuang Aier in Class 5, and Guo Ruilin and Gao Yihang in Class 5, won the "Excellent Academic Award"; Shi Ziyao and Li Qinuo of Class 5, Class 7 won the Excellent Video Award for their works on "Low Carbon Life". The participating team of SIP No.2 Experimental Primary School in the whole park won the Excellent Organization Award.
For more than a month, the emissaries of SIP No.2 Experimental Primary School used their brains to actively discuss: connect with the video conference software zoom, communicate ideas in real time, and exchange the latest progress with each other by mail. Focusing on the theme of "Green Home", the students brainstormed fiercely from the three dimensions of "3R", namely Reuse, Reduce and Recycle, and put forward a series of whimsy: water resources protection, the impact of pneumonia on the environment in COVID-19 at present, how to deal with sudden environmental problems, and so on.
In the second connection, the students of China and Singapore had a full exchange on the related materials prepared in the early stage, and discussed the advantages and disadvantages and feasibility of each scheme. Among them, the theme of "Comparison of waste classification measures between China and Singapore" not only combined with the current facts, but also reflected the students' great attention to environmental protection. Through the comparison of relevant measures between China and Singapore, it played a very good reference significance for better formulating new measures of campus waste classification.
In the final closing connection on June 30th, Suzhou Education International Exchange Association also sent experts to guide and interview students to ask about their feelings and gains. 20 students who participated in online communication and interaction gathered in the STEAM classroom, connected with the student representatives of Chonghui Primary School in Singapore by video, and presented the cooperative works of the presentation group in English. The whole process of reporting and communication was orderly, clear and fluent, without losing humor and wit, which was praised by the teachers present.
After the closing connection, the 20 "small messengers" of the school further revised and increased the results under the careful guidance of Teacher Han Peijuan and Teacher Gao Wei: more detailed and operable content was added to the video results; The suggestions on "3R" in the research report are richer and more specific. Different dimensions are added to the PPT results, which enriches the theme and increases the perspective of considering problems. After repeated revisions and improvements, the project team submitted the final results to Suzhou Education International Exchange Association.
This activity not only encourages students to actively carry out cross-cultural research-based learning, but also helps the in-depth exchanges between schools. Students not only gained a lot of knowledge about research topics that they had never touched before, but also gained valuable experience in interpersonal communication, teamwork and international understanding. Awards are not the only gain. Through this activity, they not only enhance the awareness of environmental protection, but also cultivate students' awareness of cross-cultural understanding and tolerance, and gain valuable experience in international understanding, cooperation and exchange!
