Grade 4 teachers doing phycological trainings
In school teaching activities, teachers often find that the various situations that students present in school do not exist in isolation, and in many cases are inextricably linked with their families. Students sometimes bring unresolved conflicts in the family to school. On the other hand, parents have to face the challenges of raising children. In today's society, parents are often surrounded by a lot of contradictory parenting suggestions, at a loss as to what to do, and fall into parenting anxiety. Therefore, in the face of family education, it is necessary for teachers to have theories and methods. This training brings important support resources for teachers. In order to better help students and benefit families, the teachers of the fourth-grade group participated in psychological training activities with the theme of "reflective parenting".
First, everyone shared the video lectures provided by Teachers Wu Fan and Yao Ying. Mr. Wu first introduced Regina Parley, the founder of Reflective and the founder of the American Reflective Parenting Center. Teacher Yao gave an example of the usefulness of "reflective parenting" and emphasized the requirements and role of "reflective parenting" for parents. Neuroscience research shows that the natural tendency of the human brain to empathize, analyze, and connect with others is an essential element of being a good parent. The way of good parenting always comes from the parents and the children themselves. The key is to see yourself, see the children, slow down, and use reflective thinking and perspective. Teacher Wu Fan also used many real cases to vividly explain the meaning of "reflective ability". Regarding how to help parents reflect, Mr. Wu also clarified 10 guiding principles. Reflective parenting tells us that reflective ability is a mental function of our brain. Parents are aware of the importance of this reflective ability and can use this ability to find a way of raising their children through reflection and relying on themselves. Reflective parenting can reduce parents’ pressure, enhance parents’ confidence in parenthood, and provide parents with tools to promote the healthy development of children.
The "Reflective Nurturing" course shares the ideas and methods of reflective nurturing with teachers in the group and explains the concepts in a simple way through vivid examples. This provides a new perspective for teachers participating in the training, which can better assist parents in their reflective nurturing so that they become calmer and more confident; at the same time, it can help teachers interact well with students, and better Promote the physical and mental health of students.
